LCEA School Calendar Survey for the 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR
There are links to the six sample calendars below. These proposed calendars are the result of surveys taken over the past four years.

 

Option #1 is a traditional school year with an early start (before Labor Day) and Spring Break the week after Easter Sunday. This calendar follows School Board Policy. The first day for students would be Monday 08/30/10 and the last day would be Friday 06/10/11. (New Teachers begin on Monday 08/23/09, Returning Teachers begin on Wednesday 08/27/09.) Option #4 is a traditional school year with a late start (after Labor Day) and Spring Break the week after Easter Sunday. The first day for students would be Tuesday 09/07/10 and the last day would be Friday 06/17/11. (New Teachers begin on Monday 08/30/10, Returning Teachers begin on Wednesday 09/01/10.) Note: All six calendars include a full two-week Winter/Christmas Break (No school from 12/18/10 – 01/02/11) and one full week for Spring or Easter Break.

 

Please vote either Yes or No for each of the six options on the ballot you received from your Association Building Rep.

 

Article 6-4-1 of the negotiated agreement states:

           

“On or before March 1 of each year, the Association may develop a school calendar for the following year. The Association may submit the calendar to the District for its consideration.”
